Nitriding is a thermochemical treatment used on steels, whose function is to modify the properties on the surface of the components, by virtue of the diffusion of nitrogen and the generation of a layer of nitrides. 

 

It is used to increase wear, corrosion and fatigue resistance. In many cases the TENIFER® process is an alternative to other surface treatments such as hard chrome and cementing, obtaining a similar or superior quality.

 

As a result of the nitriding process

the steel acquires:

 

High hardness of the surface layer

High wear resistance

High fatigue resistance

High resistance to cavitation 

High corrosion resistance 

No deformation and modification in geometry

Low tendency to scratch
